Usage Guidelines
- All persons use the sauna, cold-water tanks and surrounding areas at their own risk. Stoked Dee Valley Sauna Ltd is not liable for any injuries, illness or death sustained because of sauna use and cold-water exposure.
- If you're booking on behalf of a group, it is your responsibility to ensure that every individual has agreed to this waiver form and knows how to practice safe sauna use and cold-water exposure.
- STōKED SAWNA operators reserve the right to refuse admission for any reason that may be deemed a health and safety risk. Refunds will not be offered to anyone refused admission.
- Entering the River Dee is done at your own risk and is NOT recommended by Stoked Dee Valley Sauna Ltd. If you choose to do so, it’s your responsibility to ensure you are a confident swimmer and can handle cold temperatures and varying river conditions. There is no lifeguard present.
- Typically, our sauna temperatures will range between 60-90℃. The stove is for staff use only. You are not allowed to touch it, add logs, open or close the stove door, or adjust the stove vents at any time. Please ask the sauna operator if any changes need to be made to the stove.
- Alcohol, drugs, and nudity are not allowed in the sauna at STōKED SAWNA. The operators reserve the right to refuse admission or end the session of anyone who is intoxicated or disruptive, without a refund.
- Individuals over 16 can join shared sauna sessions. If you're under 16, you must book a private session and be accompanied by an adult (with a 1:1 adult-to-child ratio). Before the session, the guardian must read CAN CHILDREN USE THE SAUNA section in the FAQ’s and complete a consent form on arrival. Children under 16 are not permitted to use the cold-water plunge bucket, cold water tub or pouring jugs. Groups with children under 16 are limited to a maximum of 8 people, including the children, and only one child aged 7 or under is allowed per booking.
- Any hanging jewellery must be removed before entering the sauna to prevent the risk of burning.
- Sauna etiquette must be always adhered to. This includes:
- Always sit on a towel for hygiene purposes and to soak up your sweat.
- Washing feet in the bucket provided before entering the sauna.
- Staying in the sauna for no longer than 20 minutes at a time (we recommend 5-15 min sessions depending on experience).
- Gently pour water using the ladle from the back of the rocks to the front to avoid getting burnt by the steam; do not dump water.
- Only pour the provided 'sauna water' on hot rocks and nothing else.
- Getting changed within your booked time slot if you'd like to use the cloakroom area.
