Sauna Usage at STōKED SAWNA

1. Assumption of Risk: By using the facilities at STōKED SAWNA, all users acknowledge and accept that participation carries inherent risks, including but not limited to exposure to high temperatures, dehydration, dizziness, fainting, and potential health complications. Users are responsible for ensuring they are in suitable health to use the sauna. If in doubt, please seek medical advice before booking.

2. Risk and Medical Advice: All persons use the sauna, cold-water tanks and surrounding areas at their own risk. If you have any medical conditions, are on prescription medication, are pregnant, or have any health concerns, please consult your doctor before booking a sauna session. Stoked Dee Valley Sauna Ltd are not liable for any injuries or death sustained because of sauna use and cold-water exposure.

3. Personal Responsibility: Users must follow all safety guidelines and any instructions provided by STōKED SAWNA staff. Individuals with pre-existing medical conditions, such as heart conditions, previous heart attack or stroke, respiratory issues, cardiovascular conditions, epilepsy, high or low blood pressure, arterial disease or are pregnant (please note this is not a comprehensive list) should not use the sauna. Please consult your GP before booking a sauna session if you are taking any prescription medication.

4. Liability Waiver: Stoked Dee Valley Sauna Ltd, the owners and the employees are not liable for any injuries, illnesses, damages or death arising from the use of the sauna, cold-water tanks or the surrounding facilities. Users waive all claims against STōKED SAWNA for any harm or loss sustained while using the facilities.

5. Photography and Videos: By using the facilities at STōKED SAWNA you grant us the right to take photographs and videos of you and your property. You authorise STōKED SAWNA the right to copyright, use and publish the same in print or electronically for such purposes as but not limited to publicity, illustration, advertising and marketing, social media, web content and any other lawful purpose.
You may only take photos for personal use, but only with the permission of all individuals present. No photographs are permitted to be taken in the changing areas.
If you do not wish to be in any photographs / videos please let a member of staff know at the start of your session.

6. Prohibited Activities: Consumption of alcohol and nudity are strictly prohibited in the sauna. STōKED SAWNA operators reserve the right to deny entry to individuals who are visibly intoxicated.

7. Jewellery: Remove all dangling jewellery before entering the sauna to avoid burns.

8. Personal Belongings: STōKED SAWNA is not responsible for the loss, theft, or damage of any personal belongings. Users leave personal belongings at their own risk.

9. Sauna Etiquette:

10. Cold Plunge: The use of our cold-water tanks is done at your own risk. Entering the River Dee is done at your own risk and is NOT recommended by Stoked Dee Valley Sauna Ltd. If you choose to do so, it’s your responsibility to ensure you are a confident swimmer and can handle cold temperatures and varying river conditions. There is never a lifeguard present.

11. Age Restriction: Individuals under 16 are not allowed to use the sauna during a shared session and must book into a private session. They must be accompanied by an adult on a 1:1 ratio during the session. We will ask you to sign a Child Consent Waiver when you arrive at the sauna to confirm that the adult takes full responsibility for the child.

12. Right to Refuse Entry: STōKED SAWNA operators reserve the right to refuse entry for any reason deemed a health and safety risk. No refunds will be provided to those refused entry.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel your session with more than 48h notice, we will refund you the session minus a handling fee of £1 for communal sessions (per spot) and £2 for private sessions or issue a voucher of the full amount valid for 1 year.

  1. 48 Hours or More: Cancel via your account for a full refund or reschedule within the available 6-week booking window.
  2. 24-48 Hours: Efforts will be made to fill last-minute cancellations and potentially offer credit or reschedule within the 6-week booking window. Please email us to cancel or reschedule within this period.
  3. Less than 24 Hours: No rescheduling or credit is available for cancellations made less than 24 hours before the booking.
  4. No Shows: No credit is provided for no-shows.
  5. Transferable Sessions: You can transfer your sauna session to a friend or family member if you cannot attend.

Bad Weather

If conditions are safe for us to operate, we will stay open during bad weather. If there is a weather warning issued by the Met Office for our sauna site and you feel uncomfortable traveling to us, we will accept a cancellation notice at the latest by 4pm the day before and issue a voucher of the full amount valid for 1 year.

If the sauna is not operating

If we need to cancel your session due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. staff illness, weather conditions making it unsafe to operate etc.), we will give you a full refund to the original payment method used.

How to proceed

If you wish to cancel or reschedule, please email us via [email protected] with your booking details (Full name, e-mail address, date/time and of your booking) and your preferred option for refund, voucher or rescheduling. We are monitoring our emails from 9am-5pm.

Please note that we cannot accept cancellations via social media.
